Palo Alto after Muybridge (measuring distance in time)
Palo Alto after Muybridge (measuring distance in time), 2017
silver gelatine print mounted on dibond print
with the generous support of CNA (Centre National de l’Audiovisuel, Luxemburg)
The silver gelatine print depicts Muybridge’s chronophotographic structure in the Palo Alto desert, document photographed in a book.
In the dibond print, the bet to know in what position a horse lifts it’s four legs off the ground during a gallop becomes a dance in which the reflecting background turns the figures into silhouettes.
